Kim Norton

Kim Norton an Oklahoma born artist specializing in realistic paintings using oils and pastels on canvas, masonite, and velour paper (for the pastels). She is a self-taught artist who enjoys portraying animals and vineyard scenes through art. Her love for animals and colors influences her work.

Kim’s strong use of dynamic light and shadows is visually captivating and enhances her colorful compositions. She brings the reality of the subject to the viewer–as if you could reach out and pet the animal portrayed or pick a grape off the vine!

Horses are her favorite animals to paint. Her portraits have brought her many commission work in which she enjoys. She started doing vineyard scenes in 2004 after a trip to the Sonoma Valley in California.

Kim’s work hangs in private collections in Oklahoma and around the U.S. and Germany. She is a member of the Central Art Association, Mid-Del Art Guild, and the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition. Kim has received many awards for her work at shows and festivals throughout her professional career. She has twice been a runner-up for the Oklahoma Duck Stamp competition.
